“So let me get this straight,” Max asked, confronting the elder-elder goddess.  “You just gave them a wholly mechanized Statue of Liberty??”

Iro-Washi shook her head.  “No; as it is, Medusa has spent months mechanizing the interior.  It is practically miraculous she was able to accomplish such a feat without being noticed.”

Sam and Max looked at each other briefly.  “Well, we’ll give her that,” said Sam.  “But if I’m reading the situation correctly, we’re no longer in our own dimension.”

“Sam, we’ve been that way for the last few freakin’ days,” Max said, a hand on his hip and the other pinch-massaging the space where the bridge of his nose would be.

“No, I meant the dimension we’re in has been drastically altered based on their wish.”

“Oh.  Well, there goes the world… and our wish.  And I wanted an armored weapons depot so badly…”

Iro-Washi shook her head.  “But you still have your wish, Samuel.”

Sam perked up, surprise written all over his face.  “Wait, I do?  And… how do you know my name?”

“Aside from the obvious fact that Max has said your name twice since my arrival, I am an elder-elder goddess.  There is little I do not know.”

“Really?” Max asked.  “Then how’s this situation going to end??”

“I’m afraid I cannot see the future; that is beyond the realm of my powers.”

“But you said I had my own wish left, right?” Sam said, quickly bringing the topic back into focus.

“That is correct.  To you, Samuel, one who wields the power: what is your wish?”

“Well,” he began, looking back at his beloved city’s new industrial-apocalyptic facelift.  “I wish for Medusa and Evan’s wish to be undone, thereby returning everything back to the way it was moments beforehand.”

Max’s eyebrows rose.  “That’s really specific, Sam.”

“You’ve gotta be when it comes to mythical elder deities, Max; you never know when one will have a literal sense of humor.”

“I am afraid I cannot grant your wish, Samuel,” came Iro-Washi’s reply.

“That’s just gre—WHAT??” Max shouted.

“You’ve got to be kidding us!” groaned Sam.

She once again shook her head.  “It is in the divine laws: one cannot wish for the undoing of another’s wish.”

Max was beside himself.  “There’s a freakin’ LAW about it?  What, was this a problem at one damn point or another??”

“Nevertheless, your wish still remains.  What is your wish?”

“Well… if I can’t undo their wish, I’m just gonna have to beat them at their own game.  Iro-Washi, I wish… for the strength and power to defeat Medusa and Evan, and return this world to normal.”

The elder-elder goddess nodded.  “Then it shall be done.”
Sorry for the short update >_< But I said at least one update a week so goodness knows I'm gonna hold myself to that!
